The Clovis culture is one of the early archaeological cultures of North America, dating back approximately 13,050–12,750 years ago. It is associated with Paleo-Indians hunting mammoths, bison, and other large fauna. The main feature is the characteristic stone spear/dart points, known as Clovis points, with a longitudinal groove at the base. The name comes from finds near Clovis, New Mexico. Wikipedia + 1 It was previously believed that Clovis represented the "first Americans." Now this is no longer the main theory: there is evidence of people in America before Clovis, meaning Clovis is not the beginning of the settlement of America, but an early and notable technological culture.
